About the collaboration:
Colleen Arcturus MacIsaac (they/them) and Coral Maloney (she/her) are an artist duo based in Kjipuktuk/Halifax, on the east coast of Turtle Island in so-called Canada. They grew up 1300 kilometres from one another on the prairies, beside bodies of water that were once part of the same ancient glacial lake. Coral works as an independent artist and collaborator, and Colleen works both independently and as Artistic Producer of The Villains Theatre. Colleen and Coral’s project Harsh Weather uses sound, movement score, multiple electric household fans and a 20×20 foot white tarp in a perplexing and nourishing meditation on queer climate grief that bridges experimental theatre, live art and installation. Together, the duo’s collaborative artistic processes are informed by their sense of responsibility to people, place and relationality. Across multiple projects, they offer their study and reflection as both commentary and invitation.
